God is Love
Dear Beloved,
“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.”
~1 Corinthians 13:6-7
“Love is patient, love is kind, it does not bost, it is not proud.”
~ 1 Corinthians 13:4
“Whoever does not love, does not know God, because God is love.”
~1 John 4:8
God is love.
I used to not be able to understand that statement. It was kinda old. Yeah yeah yeah... I've heard it before... Next sermon please. This statement grew on me. I got used to it. Like when you get new shoes and the back rubs you weird. You have to break them in and pretty soon you don't notice it. That's exactly what this was for me.
It wasn't until I was completely torn down and my so called “foundation” was in peices that I started to chase Him. I realized that God was being just with me. And He was being just because of His grace, kindness, and mercy. He only had grace over me because He's faithful to me when I'm not faithful to Him. And through it all gave me peace.
And all because He loved me.
Everythings that God does, He does because of His great love for us. Believe it or not, but God doesn't need us. He could just let us kill each other but instead He loves us. I mean, God gave up His only son, to save us. To make sure that we can go to our heavenly home.
The whole point of this series is to show you guys God's characteristics and how I've seen them in my life. But, it's important to know that God is all of these thingsfor all of you too. You just have to give in and pursue Him.
God truly is peace, grace, kindness, just, and faithful. (As well as many other things.) He doesn't turn it off and on. It's part of who He IS.
