Overflow

Dear Beloved,

This past week I got the opportunity to help my little brother's school with their 'Field day'. Considering it was the same school I went to, I was working alongside the same people that helped me through one of the most trying times in my life. (Shout out to my momma, Zia, Ms. Colon, and Ms.V!)

Back when I was in 8th grade, Field Day was one of those things that taught me how to be a kid again. Tug-of-War, sack races, egg races, capture the flag, water balloon fights, and a sun that wouldn't stop shining. It was one of those experiences that nothing would ever amount to. And then... BOOM! I'm back!

I never thought I'd be able to experience it again but I was back there like it had never ended. There was one major difference. I was now on the 'help' side of the day.

Looking back on it now I realize that's also what it means to be saved. Galatians 5:13 says, "You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: Love your neighbor as yourself."

When we become living witnesses to the love of God, we get to share it. Think of it as one of those cup towers. When you fill the cup on the very top, the water doesn't just stop when it reaches the brim. It's going to overflow into the cups below.

We all are going to reach a point where we get to pour into others. Whether it's a church ministry, or at school, or on a platform. As you grow closer to God, it becomes more impossible to keep Him to yourself.
